its 2 am and i cant sleep.

wide awake. i had lay on the bed for what, an hour ? more than an hour ? and i cant fall asleep. sheesh.

first post in adelaide.

so, i think ive told you that im going to adelaide to continue my studies here. well, ive been here for around 10 days. and so far it is alright. my room is big enough for me, and a few others if there is anyone coming here, the uni is alrite, looks a lot like TBS but a whole lot bigger. the past few days i got my sister along with me here, so i was not that lonely being here. she made my transition to this foreign island a bit easier than if i was doing it all on my own. the transition here though was not that bad, as ive been preparing for it for a quite a while before i came here. the one thing, or rather should i say the one person that i will miss most all the while im here will be iqa. i'll miss having her being close to me, being 40kilometres away and not 700+kilometres away as we are now. and right as of now, and all the while ive been here, im missing her only God knows how much. i cant even describe how much im missing her. like the stars in the sky wont do, as there are not enough stars up there to describe how much i miss her. if you happen to read this post iqa, i want you to know, and you already know, that you are the one and only person that i miss so damn much, and also the one and only person that i love with all my heart. iqa, i love you.

okay, let me try and make this much more systematic. ill start with my first few days here. the flight i took heading to adelaide was packed, and we checked in late but luckily me and my sister got seats next to each other. the flight here took only 6 and a half hours, so its not that far away i guess. the flight was bumpy, but we managed to get through it. we(me and my sister) arrived in adelaide at arnd 8am local time. and we were greeted with UniSA U-Buddies and they send me off to a designated driver to get me to my accomodation. the driver was kind enough to let my sister ride along with me to my hostel. the room was enough. it had a bed, a desk, a fridge and a bathroom that's shared with my neighbour. the kitchen though had to be shared with all the people that is staying at this floor. which sometimes can be too packed as it is a small space. i left my things at the hostel, and we head out to the city to get things done. first up was to find food. so we did. we went to a food court to get our brunch and then off to do other stuffs. i opened my bank account here, took fliers of mobile phone service providers, and look for a bit of stuffs for my room. my sister helped me a lot in doing all these stuffs. the first few nights we spent at a hotel in the city, which is a bit disappointing for the rate that my sister had to pay for it. the wireless doesnt reach our room, the bed moves around on its wheels, and our room were at the very end of the third floor, even the lifts dont reach up to the third floor.

the next few days, we spent going around adelaide CBD and the areas surrounding it. went to Glenelg beach, which is a nice place to chill out on the weekends and some other places. on saturday night my sister bunk in with me in my room at this hostel as the manager, Hassan offered her to stay here, if i dont mind, which i dont mind at all. and the week after my orientation starts.

the whole week of orientation is a drab, all the basics stuffs which i and im sure a whole lot of others already know about, but i guess its better for me to head there so that i can try to meet some new people. so off i went to orientation, and off my sister went for her self-guided tours of places of interests in the city. she after all was here for a holiday in the first place. so in the mornings i went to uni, and in the afternoons, evenings i would tag back along with my sister looking for things to eat and such before heading back to my hostel. at the orientation, it was pleasing to see some familiar faces, those who are from TBS as well who's continuing here, as well as getting to know other malaysian students who will be studying here as well.

until friday that was how its going, on friday i didnt go for the tour to the wildlife park organized by the Uni instead me and my sister went on a tour of our own. we drove along the port adelaide dolphin trail, with hopes of sighting a dolphin anywhere along the way, but no, we were disappointed, no dolphins were seen. on saturday, we went on another self-guided tour, driving along following the Flerieu Peninsular guidebook. which had nothing much to offer except for the back end of the trail where there are a few good photo taking spots. and not forgetting the beach, near Gulf St Vincent where we took pictures of the sunset. and after that we head back to the city to find food and head back to my hostel.

and then came sunday, my sister's flight will be on this day. we got up early, went to harbour town in hope of looking for some stuffs to buy, but we went back almost empty handed as there were not much interesting stuffs over there. so we head to the airport, returned the rented car, got up to the terminal, my sister checked in her luggage, and we went to look for a place to eat. and we had our lunch at this cafe, and that will be our last meal together, our next one will be due in a long time, either when i come back to malaysia, or when she comes back here. and yes i miss having her here with me. i dont know if you'll ever read this post, but i would like to say, thanks kakya for helping me settle in here, without you it'll sure be a lot more difficult than it was. and thanks for the food u belanja, and for the tour that we went ourselves. =) i rarely say this to you cause i sort of think that you already know, but yeah, i love you kakya. in fact, i rarely say that to anyone. only a special few got that from me.

and now, today, my adventure will begin. i am all alone here, and i will try to make the very best out of my short period of stay here. i'll end this post here, so stay safe people !
