What's the fuss about driving fast ?

a random blog entry here im posting. ive been thinking of posting this post for quite some time now and as of now, most of the ideas and thoughts i had about this post had gone away along with other unrelated and unimportant thoughts thats filling up my brain.

okay. about the title of this post.
it occured to me, while driving slowly and well below the speed limit one night, that most of the drivers here in malaysia likes to drive their cars fast, really fast. while i was doing 50kmph on the federal highway, or sprint, or anywhere at all for that matter, cars zoom past me by real fast.

it seems like everyone is always in a rush heading somewhere. be it in the morning, noon, evening or late at night, there will always be cars thats being driven real fast. what cant people just relax, and drive slow for a change ? drive slow, and take in the surrounding view as you are heading off to work in the mornings or heading back home late at night, sometimes it can be nice you know. and you save on a lot of things in my opinion. petrol, which in turn will save your cash, and your brakes, as you need a lot more braking done when you drive fast.

i am not saying that i dont drive fast, i do, but i save it for the most improtant reasons only, as such heading back home from hanging out with my friends when the clock is showing 5 minutes to 3am, in this situation, i'll drive quite fast in order for me not to be nagged by my mom the day after for reaching home late, but still, i dont drive as fast as some of the other drivers ive seen on the road.

another type of driver which i dont really understand, are those who try to drive fast in a traffic jam. they speed up when the car in front had moved, only to step hard on the brakes a few metres up front. aint all those accelaration and petrol and brakes being wasted by doing that ? conserve your brakes and your petrol mister, its not worth it to waste it just for a few metres.

too much money to spend therefore they drive fast so that they can spend their money on petrol ?

if this was an essay thats going to be assesed, it wont get a lot of marks, as much of this are babblings without any real evidence to support it. and its quite unorganized. but as i said earlier, most of my ideas are gone. and only now am i typing out this post.

hey hey.

im posting this post just because that im here at the college's computer lab. therefore i decided to post a post today.

nothing much has happened this past few days/weeks.
one of things that happened is the fact that my cousin, got engaged a few weeks back.
it was fun. as most of the cousins are there for the engagement. it has been a while since us cousins hung out together. usually it'll only be during raya, when all of us would gather in batu pahat for the celebrations. but this time, its not raya but the engagement. so, all of the families from my mum's side was there. and almost all of my cousins was there. a happy lot my cousins they are. and its quite fun to hang out with them once in a while. as i have been hanging out with friends with friends most of the time, sometimes its good to spend time with families. eventhough i feel like i didnt talk much but still its fun. picture taking and else. will post some of the pictures later form home.

exmas are right around the corner, its next week infact. and i havent studied a single lecture yet for the exams. i have a few more days to cover all the subjects, so i might be starting to study today or tomorrow, depends on my laziness, if im lazy, i wont be studying today, therefore ill be studying tomorrow, if im not lazy, ill start studying today. 4 subjects to cover in a few days. i hope i can do well. i really hope so.

i for now has a sudden addiction to koko kaina, a malaysian unsigned talent and also a bit of a youtube phenomenon. check out her songs at youtube, search for koko kaina, and you can hear to her songs there. i especially like "i am me once more". nice tune to it, and she has very good vocals. hoping to win the tickets to urbanscapes, therefore i can check her out live performing at urbanscapes this coming 28th june.

its 11.35am and im still wide awake.

so, this is post 101. its been a week plus since im done with my mid semester exams and today is wesak day, so there's no college. am here at home, in my room, with the air cond turned on, with fiona apple's across the universe playing in the background from my iPod, and i am updating my blog.

nothing much has happened since my last post, except for the fact that i did my exams, got results for 3 out of 4 papers that i sat for, and all three results are all satisfactory and maybe even they're a bit better than expected. =)

if you're curious about the title of the post above, its because im still up from yesterday, woke up around 4pm, 4.30pm yesterday, didn't do much, hung out, ate, stayed online, till like 6 in the morning and my sister texted me through YM and asked me if we should go out and take pictures of the sun rising. said yes, and off we go in the trusty black Aveo i've been driving around in for quite some time now, heading towards Ulu Yam. drove all the way there, stop at a viewpoint, and the sun was blocked by clouds, therefore no sunrise pictures can be taken, only pictures of the shine from the sun is available to be captured through the lens of our cameras. took some photos there, packed up, and continued on driving on the bending and winding and twisting roads still heading towards ulu yam. stopped at another parking lot, at Hutan Lipur Sg. Tua, and noticed there's a river flowing a few steps down from where we parked. got out, took our cameras and our ever-so-faithful tripod with hopes to shoot some good pictures of flowing water, after the upset of not being able to take pictures of sunrise.

after a not-so-treacherous hike of about 20 metres down from where we parked the car, the river is now just a step away from us. i took off my flip-flops, my sister took off her shoes, and off we go into the river with our cameras and our tripods. its been a while since the last time i had the chance to step into a proper river like the one we just stepped into. i set up my tripod, attached my camera onto it, and start shooting pictures. i just uploaded the pictures into my laptop and i should be uploading it to my flickr page and also my myspace page in a bit. you people can take a look at the pictures i took at my flickr and my myspace page. the thing is i think i should be tired by now, but then, if i am tired at all, it'll only be like half-tired, and im not really THAT tired. so yeah, now im going to go through the pictures that i took, and im going to post it in my flickr and my myspace page !

this is post number 100. =)

okay, so ive been blogging for about 1 year plus now, i started end of 2006, and now is early 2008, and only now i reached post number 100. yeah, im at my century of posts here in my blog. some people might reach one hundred posts in a hundred days. but me, it took me more than a year. this is mainly due to the crappy laptop at home, and due to the laziness that im starting to think that im born with, to update my blog.

i went through some of my older posts, the titles anyways. and those posts that i dont really recall of typing it out here, i read it back. and it brings back memories to me, no matter sad or happy memories, but it does brings back memories. and the best part is that when i read it back, only for it to put a smile on my face. it is funny to recall back my memories, like how im pissed off for not getting a day's rest at home when i quit SAM to go to PASUM, when in actual fact, at the end of my duration there in PASUM, i realized that i actually enjoyed my stay there and i dont really want to go back home. the friends there made it happen. made my stay there enjoyable.

and ironically, now im back again in taylors, but instead of doing sciences, im doing business. which so far is quite good and fun. its way different here in TBF than the 6 months i spent doing SAM. this is also, due to my friends here, they made it happen. i have few friends when i was in SAM, maybe thats the reason i didnt enjoy it that much.

the past two years has changed me i guess. i think you can see it in my choice of words, my posts here in my blog. i was more of a rebel last time round, and now i thin ive grown up, a bit. my outer appearance may fool you, and make you say that im childish. but yeah, thats me. im growing up, and as i grow up, my mind grows too, my understanding of the world, and how it goes. im may be a bit childish on the outside, but i think i am wise enough inside for my age, besides, its fun being a child or a small kid, dont you think ? but then again, in actual fact, i dont really like the fact that im turning twenty this year. TWENTY. 2-0. 20. XX. DUA PULUH. it makes me sound old, and it makes me feel like i still havent acquire enough knowledge that is needed for me to go through my adult life. a life thats full of responsibilities.

im typing this post out in order of whatever comes into my head when im typing it out. some things might be a bit random and out of place. but do bear with me, because im just like trying to empty my head. =)

had a sausage mcmuffin from McD for breakfast today. got coupons for free sausage mcmuffin yesterday when people from McD came to promote their breakfast set. damn a lot of people was at the McD to redeem their free sausage mcmuffin. it's good btw.

semester 1 and 2 for my foundation year went by so fast. i know this is a bit cliche, but i felt like i just enrolled for this programme last month, when im already in my third and final semester here. and my 1st and 2nd semester went by well btw. except for accountings 1 which i dont really understand therefore obtaining a just plain old so-so result.

i used to blog every night when i started this blog, now i only post a new post when i feel like it, or whenever i feel like this blog needs a new post. and this post is the one that i fell like posting a new post. =) my new addiction too may contribute to the reason why this blog is being sidelined most of the time. a brand new nikon D80 which my dad bought for me on his birthday. yeah, you read that right, my dad bought it for me, on HIS birthday, and not my birthday. its suppose to be the other way round, i know, but yeah. i guess my dad was in a good mood that day. but still i have to pay him back when i can generate an income using that camera. photography is currently my new addiction. and light painting too. to take a look at some of the pictures ive taken, you can check out my flickr page here.

apart from studying what im supposed to be studying in college, at the same tine im also now learning how to produce good pictures. *advert !* take a look at my pictures here. =) *end of advert* im still a beginner, an amateur in the world of photography.

i got something in my mind to type it out here, but the guy using the computer next to me distracted me and the thought went away for a while, but now the thought is back in my head. i wanted to say that the computer here in the college's computer lab is more pleasing and inviting that the crappy shitty laptop that i have at home. sudden rebooting, blue screen popping out suddenly resulting my laptop to crash and so on. oh how i hate that.

i recalled typing out a wishlist of mine not long ago. and now i can cancel "i want a dslr" off of that list as i got a dslr already. now that will only leave me with, hurmm, let me think, a wall clock, a mini fridge, a cd rack all from room. a new handphone. to be good at photography. to have radio-controlled cars and a display rack to be hung in my room.

this post is way too long i guess. i still have thoughts in my head that i can type it out here, but the laziness is creeping back into me. i guess i'll end this post here. this is a long one, and i congratulate you to be able to read up till here. =) this blog is here, for people like you, yes you, you that have continued on reading up till here. i hope i dont bore you with my random babblings. oh wait, maybe i should change my blog name to "babblings from subang jaya" instead of "babblings from kelana jaya" as ive been updating my blog from college for quite a while now. thats a thought, but i'll tend to it later. too lazy now.

as i stated at the tagboard, i cant update this blog as often as before as my classes has started. and now im having my CNY holidays. so, i can squeeze in a post or two during this holidays.

anything new ? lets see. since the last time i updated my blog, a few eventful days had came and passed by. among the eventful days that i had, the one that is on the top of the list is in no doubt, would be on 25th January 2008.

25th January 2008.
on this date, marks our three years of being together, of being a couple, of me being fara's boyfriend and of fara being my girlfriend. yes, it is me and fara. we started out as friends, obviously, and on 25th January 2005, somewhat around 4am, as we were messaging through msn, i asked her to be my girl, and she has been my girl ever since. three years. three wonderful, memorable and fun-filled years. and we went through it all with a smile on our faces. there's never a doubt that i love her, and my love for her had never changed throughout our three years together, if ever my love towards her did change, it is only because that i love her more, that my love for her increased. lets go for another three years together yeah bee ?

other things that i had been doing since my last post is that i've been an avid follower of Hujan. to those who doesn't have any clue whatsoever who Hujan is, they're an indie band right here in malaysia. been going to their gigs for four straight weeks. it has always been good, and it is a great experience everytime ! i love Hujan too. *jumping up and down* *jumping and moshing into others* =)

i am enjoying fara's presence here in kl since she is done with her spm and is now at home, enjoying her post-spm life.

there's another week to this CNY holidays, and i'll spend it wisely, before i have to go back to college and to classes. and im having a sudden brain blockage. cant find any words to type out, or even to think properly. guess i'll have to do this another day.

and btw, malaysian studies sucks big time. its an utter waste of precious time, and also a waste of my precious energy. cant wait for it to end.

updates.

to me, so far, 2008 is going on fine. the first 19, 20 days of 2008 had been good. college-wise, its been good, except for some of the usual gang decided to stop from completing the course, other than that, its been going on great, its kind of boring, as theres only two subjects, and the syllabus should be for a 14 week semester, but they're doing it in half that time, 7 weeks. so yeah, having to do english and maths only everyday of the week, it gets boring, but luckily the tutors are fun to be around, so it makes the subjects and the 2 hours lessons bear-able. my 2nd semester is now entering the 5th week. mid semester exams is approaching, so to CNY holidays and the final semester exams. all this are separated by few days, or few weeks i should say.

been going around to a few events held in places where i can reach easily. 8tv birthday bash at One Utama last sunday, to me, is the high-point of the first 20 days of 2008, and maybe will be the high-point of January '08. went futsal-ing at UM last night, a friend called me up asking me to join for futsal, so took the offer and went to UM to play. played with pasum friends and some of the people there. i think this futsal story, which are like 2 lines of it, is somewhat insignificant and unrelated to this paragraph, but yeah, i'll leave it there. (this is the effect of having to attend english classes everyday, =P )

im not saying that 2008 is going flawlessly, with no problems what-so-ever, there are some problems that's present, some stuffs that bothers me personally, but its not the kind of problems that are very serious and needed to be solved out. the problems will go away in due time.

im hoping for the rest of the year to be going on fine just like the first 20 days did, plus there's a few areas, that i'll surely love to improve on.

new semester

now that the new semester has started, i have little time to update my blog. so maybe, MAYBE, i'll update this blog on a weekly basis. or i'll update it whenever i get the chance to post a new post this blog. =)

say goodbye to 07, and say hello to 08.

its 5.08am malaysian time. its 5 hrs into the new year, and i just had my first shower of the year. spending almost the whole night hanging out and meeting up with friends was fun. the countdown adventure starts with dropping-off kimie and wanprof to the curve around 9pm and heading back to kelana jaya to pick up athir, who was waiting in-front of my house, madi who was actually on his way to klcc but changed his mind at the last minute to go to the curve, and dee, my sister that had made the journey all the way from malacca to meet up with her friends at the curve. reached the curve quite late and people were hyper.

bumped into alia, my junior, and a few college friends there. watched the fireworks thats displayed right on top of our heads with madi, dee, nates and zaid as we accidentally met nates and zaid while searching for athir that went astray in the crowd of people. after the fireworks, we went searching for another group of friends who are somewhere among the sea of people. found them, wished happy new year, took photos a bit, and sat there, doing nothing. next is heading off to rasta in ttdi but its filled with people thus the decision to head off to al-fariz maju in kelana jaya for refreshments. ate, talked, drank and we're off on our separate ways. i head back home so to the others.

i can somewhat sense that this year is going to be kind of a good year. i recalled kyeli told me that how you start the year is how the rest of the year is going to be, and for me it started out good. and so, the rest of the year should be good. =)

2007. a lot of new experiences that i experienced in 2007. i had imaginatively typed out this post in my head over the past one, one and a half months. but the irony is that as for now, i cant recall 75% of the post i intended to post so i'll type out those that i can remember.

the memorable events, influential people in 2007 for me are:

1. going for my first ever proper concert. yes people, my first real concert happened this, or should i say last year when i was 19 years old. =) and i enjoyed it much. its the muse concert if anyone of you are wondering which one.
2. taylors business foundation. got to know a whole lot of new people there. and they're fun people.
3. my new sister. =D
4. athir. hung-out with him during the holidays and got to know and hung-out with friends that lives nearby.
5. shazrai ediaz shazrul azwa =)
6. lorong haji taib. i heard a lot about the lorong, but i never been there before. went there with friends during one of our late night outing in 2007. we drive-through it only okay, we didnt do anything else. seriously okay.
7. going to london with parents and to paris alone ! this was awesome.
8. one twenty car wash. xD
9. garlic cheese naan al-fariz maju in kelana jaya. the best garlic cheese/cheese naan in kelana jaya, kampung tunku, subag jaya, sunway, ttdi, petaling jaya, ss2 and might even be the best in selangor. it is as good as it can get.
10. bbq. eventhough not many people showed up, but it was a fun fun fun ! nite.
11. academic results. good and bad. bad for pasum, good for tbf.
12. cooking sessions with my sister. chocolate chip cookies, bbq marinates, salsa, lasagna, pizza, thats all i can recall of cooking up foods.
13. i also did a few bad things in 2007. its best that i keep that only to myself. =)

im too tired to think of anymore. if i do recall anything that is worthy to be put into this list then i'll add it up later. and the list above is not in any particular order. i typed it out as i recalled the events of my life in 2007.

the very first post of a new year. and i like it. 2008, i have a good feeling that this year, 2008, will be a good year. and i hope it does turns out good. =)
